Creativity, Cohesivity + Consistency: The Building Blocks of Digital Brand Maintenance
First impressions matter, and nowhere is that more evident than on the Internet. Your presence online stands in the place of any face-to-face, hands-on interactions. It might be the first place your potential clients, customers and followers meet you! So it’s important to incorporate your brand’s identity—which, in and of itself, should be strong and attractive. Then once your digital brand identity is in place, maintaining it while simultaneously entertaining and educating your captive audience is a must.
But how?
With creativity, cohesivity, and consistency, of course! All three of which are the pillars of our brand-building philosophy. Let’s dive in:
1. Creativity
When it comes to your digital brand identity, as well as your ability to keep your clients, customers and followers engaged—creativity is the tool that does it all. Your content, whether it be on your website or in your social media accounts, should be developed in a way that is eye-catching and interactive. Push the envelope, but don’t stray too far from the parameters established within your overall brand identity.
Take, for example, one of our newest clients, Aaron & Otto. We recently revamped their branding and began creating content for their Instagram. Soon, we’ll launch a website for them, integrating the same creative approach.
2. Cohesivity
All the parts and pieces of your digital brand identity should match. The look and feel of your website should be a reflection of all your social media posts. (Same fonts, colors, tone of voice…) Playing this match game ensures brand recognition, which gives your target clients, customers and followers a chance to get to know you.
One of our best representations of this is our client Rocket Mission (ROMI). You’ll see the same sophisticated branding on their Instagram and website.
3. Consistency
…but remember, making everything match is just part of it! Once it does, consistency becomes the key to ensuring that your target audience knows you AND loves you, too. It solidifies that sense of reliability that people want from the brands and businesses they support. If, for example, you suddenly changed your messaging—or even the fonts you use—for no reason and without explanation, what’s to say you won’t change their favorite product or service, either? (We know, you’d never do that without some serious thought and explanation.😉)
A quick scroll through our client CaraGala’s Instagram will give you a great idea of what it’s like to maintain consistency over time.
In general, all of this serves to say that your efforts online (and even in person!), should consistently communicate a cohesive message in a creative way that accurately represents your business or brand. We promise, this is a totally achievable thing!
